This was one shoot that kept get cancelled. What was supposed to be a spring shoot ended up becoming a summer shoot which eventually became a autumn shoot. Thou it may have felt more like winter, as it was the weekend the first cold front hit Johannesburg. Kamini and Dilan’s engagement shoot was scheduled for 7 on this very cold morning. I remember being slightly grumpy, i struggled to get myself out of my warm bed. Then I thought of Dilan who had to get up extra early as he was the furthest away from where we were to shoot (If I felt lazy and sleepy I can only imagine how he felt…) The shoot went of well and my lovely couple really did a good job bracing the icy weather conditions. Kamini and Dilan’s wedding will take place in august this year, we can’t wait for the shoot. more pics
For other couple out there a E-shoot/engagement shoot is a lovely way to personalise your wedding day. You can use these pictures for so many things on the wedding day. It can be a way of expressing to your guests the couple you are. Things you can use pics for: Guest signing book/ Canvas message board, use a different picture for each one of your tables as a numbering alternative, Thank you cards that most couples give out on the day to guests and slide shows( perfect for those speeches at receptions). All of these things can be custom made for you by designer photo. Please drop us a mail should you be interested

If I had to choose a colour to describe this wedding it would definitely be pink. Melissa wore the prettiest sari with jewelry that complimented it perfectly. The jewelry was rather different as it had stones the colour of coral. Between Melissa and I I’m not quite sure who wanted a beach shoot more. Unfortunately it wasn’t our luck this time, however not all was lost as we managed to get the amazing Tongaat hills which were equally as beautiful with a gorgeous sunset. We actually kidnapped the couple just to make this happen so you can imagine the scene. We had a getaway car parked at the exit and manage to whisk our lovely couple away for 15min totally unnoticed. I shot this wedding the same day that we where leaving for India. I literally got home after the wedding, (did back-ups in the car on the way home) changed and left for the airport. I arrived a Leila's place early, I remember it was just beginning to get cold in the mornings. The previous day had rained buckets and Leila was quite worried about the aspect of rain. Thankfully it stayed away the entire day. Leila looked gorgeous in her outfit from Seasons. I loved alot of things about Leilas function but her was décor particularly amazing (see pic below) when I opened the doors to the venue It looked all sparkly with all the fairy lights, which where just dreamy…:) I loved the fact that they let the fairy lights hang in the front, it just made shooting the wedding rather fun. Well come to think of it everything was perfect, from the décor to the food to the couple . Everytime I looked through my lens I was like a kid in a candy store. This was my first Telegu wedding. Kanchana would be the first bride that I shot who had hair her head covered with flowers. It looked so pretty but I can only imagine how heavy it was. It really is a time staking process that takes about 3-6hours depending of the design the bride wants. Considering that it only took Anushelin roughly 15min to get ready. I dealt mostly with Anushelin as he was the photography enthusiast in the relationship. Their wedding took place at Bland ford Manor Gardens, with about 150 guests. Most of you know how much I love small weddings. I find them so much more about the couple, more intimate and the couple really get to spend quality time together and with their guests. This was yet another late wedding but we did the couples shoot before the wedding in case things got delayed. We found the strangest location by chance- the crates of tile stacked up look so pretty that you wouldn’t think it was a dispatch area for tiles, thanks to Mazista for letting us shoot there. Luckily everything was perfectly on schedule and we managed to do a shoot after the wedding as well. I must say that both Mitesh and I learnt a lot while shoot this wedding as things are done quite differently to the weddings we usually shoot. more images Make up: Pindi 26th March 2011
So I’ve been really busy and just haven’t had the time to do a post , so the post below is actually from Mitesh. Let’s hope it’s a first of many..:) The day finally arrived 26 March. Poonam had been waiting for this day for as long as I can remember. It’s the day she got married to Sacheen. We started the day off early, and arrived at Poonam's place where we were left with lots of time 2 capture lovely detail shots of her outfit, bangles and other accessories - which I totally love shooting. We patiently await for the arrival of Phindi her makeup artist who we have been seeing a lot lately. Poonam made a gorgeous bride, in a outfit that really sparkled when all the lights were on her. Hema said that “the most romantic bit of the wedding was the little recording Sacheen had playing while she walked in. Sacheen couldn’t get his eyes of his bride and looked for any opportunity to make her laugh”. Because this was a late afternoon wedding we had to rush off as soon as the wedding was over for the location shoot and if any of you follow Hema on twitter this is the wedding she was going on about the 'hay bales', we had chosen a few locations for this wedding, but none of them seemed really wow. Until she spotted these hay bales one afternoon driving home, this was about 3 weeks before this wedding. In the last week I noticed that they had now be stacked next to each other and seemed to be ready for collection. Everyone thinks what the big deal if we had to use another location, but what most peoples don’t get is that we have to wait a whole year to be able to shoot this again and that’s if we have wedding around that times. So with a little bit on hope and luck we managed to use the hay bales as our location. Well to finish Mitesh's post this off, I’m sure we can all agree that Poonam and Sacheen made a very good looking couple and that where ever I shot them the images would still be beautiful. more images Ps: we off on a holiday so my next post will probably be from our amazing adventure in kerala or dubai (if u around the same area send me a message maybe we can do a couples shoot) Make up: Phindi Sound: Mitesh |
